Fishing report, new product lines, additional guided trips for 2022 and Thank you.
Greetings Fellow Anglers,
As we move on from 2021, the team at Fish Tales Outfitters would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support over the year. 2021 was another challenging year for everyone, COVID was once again on the minds of everyone and many once we were all concerned with our health and that of our friends and loved ones. Tragically so many were taken from us far too early.
We were faced with product shortages and price increases from nearly all of our suppliers. We have worked hard to keep our prices affordable with high quality and with excellent warranties. We have been ambitious in looking for products not made in China. We have already added TFO (Temple Fork Outfitters) and will be adding St. Croix Rods to our line up in January. We have also added Aquaz waders. All of these lines have great price points, excellent warranties and are not made in China. New lines to be added in the coming months.
We will begin offering guided carp and bass trips on Lake Emory which is located right in the heart of Franlin. We expect to roll these trips out in March. We will also be looking at additional smallmouth bass float trips on the Little "T".
As to fishing, things could not be better. Our private trophy water and public water has seen some of the best action of the year. Its the time of the year to downsize fly selections. Size 18-22 midges, small stoneflies and perdigon nymphs are excellent choices. Hatches are not as common but a nice warm sunny day brings the water alive. Not seeing any hatches or risers?. Fish slow and deep. The trout will often be glued to the bottom.
We will be offering our "Intro to Fly Fishing Class" towards the end of January. This is a one day class that we cover all of the fly fishing basics as well as provide time for you on our private trophy water. The class is limited in size so we can focus on each of the attendees. Give the shop a call for more info.
Our 3-day back country trips to the Great Smoky Mountains resume in late March or early April. Lake levels dicate our start time. Drop a line or give the shop a call to get you on the list. Again, we limit the size of the group so that we can provide each of you with a trip of a lifetime.
In closing, we can't express enough the sincere gratitude for your support over the year. Many of you came in as a visitor and gave us a chance and are now able to know you as a friend. We are here to help anyone get on the water and enjoy the passion and love we have for fishing. In short time you wil soom realize its not about the fish.
We pray that 2022 will bring healing, peace and comfort to you all.
